Sra. DeFelice has been in education for a long time. She received
her B.S. in Elementary/Math education from SUNY at Cortland of New
York. Her M.A. degree in Education with a cross-cultural specialty was
earned from Columbia International University in South Carolina. She
spent a few years teaching before moving overseas with her
family.
In Chile and Ecuador, she was involved in a wide variety of activities
related to bilingual and bicultural education. Closest to her
heart, was the desire for bilingual education of her four
children. They, along with other expatriates, she was key
in their orientation and adaptation to the culture and language. For
the Chileans, she was involved in their English acquisition along with
training them for overseas opportunities. Her experience has
transcended the traditional classroom, as she has taught in
Conferences, Camps and Churches in South America.
She is very excited about the opportunity to teach at LILA and becoming
part of its vision and growth.
