Kindergarten—Katie Henk—Srta. Katie

Srta. Katie is a native Minnesotan who grew up just South of Forest Lake.  Growing up with a love of traveling, she has seen quite a bit of the United States, as well as a lot of Australia where she studied and traveled in college.  After receiving her degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota, she continued there to receive her teaching license. She taught one year as a reading specialist at an International Baccalaureate school in Brooklyn Center, MN.  While finishing her Masters of Education at the University of Minnesota, she spent a month in Guatemala to continue studying Spanish which she began in 8th grade.  This is her second year at LILA.  Half her days are spent in Kinder and this year she will also have one day a week in Srta. Amy's 1st grade class and one day in Sra. Gail's 3rd grade class.
