Julie and her husband, Steve, live in Wyoming, MN, with their two boys. She is a part-time employee of LILA in the finance office, and an author. Julie's experience includes work at the University of MN-Twin Cities for 10 years as an assistant scientist in the Institute of Human Genetics, and the Molecular and Cellular Therapeutics Program's Gene Therapy division. She enjoyed volunteer work at The Raptor Center at the University of MN for eight years, logging over 1200 hours of service. Julie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Julie is a founding board member and has served as treasurer of the Board of Directors since February 2004. While on the board, she has served on the following committees: budget and finance, policy, audit, director evaluation, and the new board member committee. In 2006, she was appointed to serve on the LILA Building Company Board of Directors, serving as its president.
