Señora Shannon oversees the selection, implementation, and evaluation of the instructional tools used at Lakes International. She's also responsible for compliance with state and International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IBO-PYP) curriculum requirements as well as guiding the school's multi-year candidacy for IBO-PYP accreditation. Señora Shannon holds a BA in English from Moorhead State University and an MA in English as a Second Language from the University of Hawaii. In addition to serving in an executive role for the Lakes International Board of Directors since its inception, Señora Shannon has previously volunteered for the Forest Lake Early Childhood Family Education Advisory Board and holds memberships in Families with Children from China and American Council of Immersion Education. In the fall of 2006 she will begin serving on a statewide legislative recommendations committee chartered by Education Commissioner, Alice Seagren, to improve Minnesota's instructional capacity in Mandarin Chinese.
